Heather’s Kash Kube adventure:

July 9th, 2009 by Heather

It was a rainy Wednesday morning when I was waiting for the phone interview to start the Kash Kube adventure.  I knew the week before that I was going to be in the Virgin Radio Kash Kube.

The way the contest works, one contestant is set up in advance and they bring the Kash Kube to your work place.  I was so excited I was ready to trash talk whoever my competitor was. I was going to bring it.  Being the entertaining person I am I actually sent out an Evite so I could have a few cheering fans there to support me and intimidate my competition.

They choose the other contestant by asking people to text in after my interview if they want to challenge me and can make it to my location.  It’s an early morning the interview was before 7 am and we had to be at my office for 7:30am. Well knowing that the other contestant is selected randomly I had my boyfriend Wesley Richards prepare a text the night before so he was ready to text right when the interview was on.  Can’t be selected if you don’t text in so why not try.

Little did I know they would actually select Wesley as my competitor.  We were in utter shock, he even asked if it was allowed to being that he was my boyfriend and already here. The Virgin Radio Team loved it, they enjoyed the play on us being a couple competing in the Kube for cold hard cash.

We both signed our wavers; put on our safety goggles and we were set to play. The trash talking was still a priority and we each had a few words for each other.

We each have 20 seconds in the Kube to grab as much cash as possible, and winner takes all. So whoever grabs the most cash takes all that was collected by both contestants.  It was tight the Virgin Radio Team came back after counting with a few smirks on their faces. When it was announced who won … I almost cried. If you can believe we tied!!!! Yes Tied!!!! So we each got to take home our winnings. It was a fun morning, and both Wes and I have two hundred and ten dollars we didn’t have before. No arguing over finances in our relationship.

Thanks for the adventure Virgin Radio!
